Of course one of the mysteries of the world is how Cliff Richard a perennially uncool figure sang a song with one of the coolest titles ever; Wired For Sound. Now we are living Wireless For Sound, surely Cliff is going to get signed up for a marketing campaign singing Wireless For Sound very soon.

Stockholm is going to get its LTE-4G network in 2010 and as I understand this will be one of the first in the world, I think Verizon are a little ahead of them. So what can be done a minimum of 100 Mbps in a pure IP based environment? Well most anything one thinks. Of course, this is not going to be available for smartphone form factors straight off the bat, antenna constraints determine that, to get this speed is going to need 4 separate antennas in the device, and today’s state-of-art does not allow for 4 antennas to get squeezed into an iPhone! But, what a day when they do, and maybe it is time to start looking at antenna manufacturer’s stock prices.
